Andrew Coonan

Qualified as a Solicitor in February 1997 and has obtained a Degree in politics and history. He pursued a career as an amateur jockey for a number
of years before turning his attention solely to law. Andrew is Secretary of the Irish Jockeys Association and practises in all aspects of law but has particular expertise in the area of the Racing and Equestrian Industries and also the analysis of the rules of various sporting bodies including the Irish Sports Council, the Turf Club, the GAA, the Irish Athletics Association, The Football Association of Ireland and the Show Jumping Association of Ireland. Andrew also advises clients in relation to agricultural and commercial property transactions and the relevant tax implications in relation to same. Andrew practices in the area of commercial and civil and criminal litigation. He also advises in relation to estate planning and family law.

Andrew holds a number of Board and Trustee positions particularly in relation to advising in the area of jockey welfare, education and financial support.
